Journey to Israel
Dear Holy Land Traveler:
Perhaps you have read your Bible for many years, and its pages are very familiar. Maybe you are just recently saved and the Bible is a new adventure for you. I have read my Bible through many, many times, but as I read it, to me it is not just black information on pearly white pages…it’s living color.
I’ve walked the green fields where Boaz fell in love with Ruth and visited the shepherd’s cave where close by our Lord was born. When I read of the story of the Good Samaritan I can feel the rocky road beneath my feet that leads from Jerusalem to Jericho and I can almost see the rolling hills of Judah along the coast of the Dead Sea. I’ve felt the spray of a beautiful waterfall in the desert at En Gedi where David hid from King Saul. I see the babbling waterbrook come from out of the side of a mountain at the mouth of the Jordan. This water flows down to the beautiful Sea of Galilee. Along the shores of the sea are rolling meadows where Jesus fed the multitudes. I’ve felt the grass under my feet as I could visualize the thousands of people straining the ear to listen to the words of our Lord. That day I walked the very ground where Jesus walked.
There is so much in this Land to mention – the old city of Jerusalem, the market places, the wailing wall, the Eastern gate, the temple mount, the village of Nazareth restored to the way it was in the time of Christ; but the most moving sight is to stand on the walls of the Holy City, Jerusalem, and view Mt. Calvary and see the hill on which our Lord suffered and died for our sins. Close by is the garden tomb that he borrowed for a few nights and then rose again.
I was once told some very good advice…don’t buy things – buy memories – they last longer. Truly, I can promise you, the sights, friends and memories you make on this trip will last a lifetime. Please pray and trust God to provide a way for you to go with us this February. You will not regret the investment into your spiritual walk with God. See the place in your mind when you read of it in the Book.
For His Glory,
Jim and Terri Green
